SUMMARY:International Workshop of the Practical Management of the Salalah Guidelines for the Management of Public Archaeological Sites
DESCRIPTION:The international workshop on Practical Application of Salalah Guidelines for the Management of Public Archaeological Sites is organised by the Office of the Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan for Cultural Affairs and the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in Oman\, in cooperation with the Unesco World Heritage Centre.  \nAbdulaziz bin Mohammed al Rowas\, Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan for Cultural Affairs\, and Chairman of the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS)\,  focused on the importance of global natural history\, the rich Majan culture of Oman\, the influences of the Mesopotamian\, Indian\, Sindh\, East African and Pharaonic since the reign of Khufu the Great\, 5\,000 years ago\, and its impact on today’s generations. He praised the efforts of academics\, researchers\, and even the ordinary citizens of Oman for their industry and dedication in maintaining these historical links in perpetuity.
