The University of Sindh in Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Pakistan and the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 6, 2019. Publication of the 2nd Volume of the Series “Historic Settlements of Oman”
The second volume of the series “Historic Settlements of Oman” was published in June 2019. This volume hosts sites from the Batinah Gorvernorate, visited and documented by students from the German University of Technology in Oman, GUtech. This is part of the ongoing project “Historic Settlements of Oman” that aims to create an electronic database and record systematically the settlemental history of Oman.

Public Presentation by Prof. Jansen “Die Seidenstrassen zu Wasser und zu Land”
On December 15th, 2019 Prof. Dr. Michael Jansen gave a public lecture in Viersen on the Silk Roads, a vast trade network that connected the East and West via land and sea routes.
