International Technical Meeting on the Future of the Bamiyan World Heritage Property

The objectives of the meeting are dealing with the future development of the Bamiyan valley in relation to the UNESCO World Heritage property. The meeting is organized in 6 sessions. The two first sessions will present the current status of the Bamiyan World Heritage Site and current issues of the development in the Bamiyan Valley respectively. Session 3 will focus on potential rehabilitation of the Eastern Buddha Statue, session 4 will bring up the issue of creating an archaeologiccal Park in Bamiyan. Session 5 will have the form of a roundtable and discuss donor initiatives in Bamiyan, whereas finally session 6 will present the results of the International Technical Meeting and open the discussion for further recommendations. The meeting is generously financed by the Japanese Government under the UNESCO JFIT programme.
